We first became inspired to make our own authentic falafels when we had huge cravings for the real deal. We wanted to eat the homemade falafels we grew up on and ate during our travels. Having eaten the falafels that were on offer here in the supermarkets, restaurants and even some street vendors in your popular London hotspots, nothing quite stacked up to the quality and authentic flavour and texture of what
we would eat during our annual visits to Cairo and the Levant.

The journey began in our own little kitchen in Oxfordshire. We armed ourselves with the recipe from mum, a mincer and the staple ingredients of beans, fresh herbs and vegetables and we started to mince fresh falafel mix just like Mama Mona did. Since that first mince we never looked back. That was four years ago now. Since our inception not only have we created a strong brand image with Mama Mona at its helm but we have created a product so true to its origins that in its evolution we realised ourselves that this was more than just a mix to make falafel balls but this mix was so flexible that it inspired us make falafel burgers, falafel scotch eggs, falafel tortilla, falafel hot dogs to name a few.
Suddenly this delicious mix not only provided flexibility and choice but it provided control to the user in going one step further and adapting the mix to their own personal taste, be it to add extra spice, or low salt or even stuffing the falafel with anything of their choice. Our own personal favourite is falafels stuffed with mozzarella.
